December - Alan Sommerville - Sculptor, Australia/New ZealandAlan Sommerville is a sculptor based in Australia who has built a reputation for major Bronze work. He was commissioned to complete the Australian Anzac Memorial Soldier for the Bridge of Remembrance on Sydney Harbour, and has just been commissioned to now bookend the bridge with a New Zealand Anzac Soldier on the other side. Our Summer Catalogue introduces Alan's work and includes a superb bronze "The Light Horseman" depicting a mounted First World War Anzac. Alan's work is on view at the Gallery, and included in the Summer Catalogue which is on show until 9th February 2008. |
