Our Winter Catalogue includes a diverse range of NZ artwork and artists, with a wide range of sizes from a major Fatu Feu’u stretched canvas to a Mark Wooller “Kauri Tree” miniature.

Two fine artists new to the gallery have entered recent works into the exhibition. Geoff Tune is a highly regarded Auckland based artist who has completed a new series based on his local landmark Maunga Mt Eden and a painting referencing his travels to the South of France. The wonderful subtlety and deft brushwork is enhanced with softly abstracted organic tones and carefully controlled imagery, which is particularly apparent in “Thinking of Eden”.

Marc Blake, a Queenstown based artist presents a series of paintings which immediately engage the viewer ,where ethereal images of people or animals in a landscape materialise in a vibrant wash of  pigments and watercolours such as “Nude Descending a Staircase” and  “As a Human I am Going to Try and Compare This to Everything in Life”.

We have been favoured with several outstanding secondary market artworks from various collections for this exhibition catalogue. Two Dame Louise Henderson paintings from the collection of an artist who painted with her have now become available. A fresh flowing landscape finished on canvas of the Coromandel, is a feature work in the exhibition, together with a delicate abstract watercolour.

A powerful and vibrant impasto oil on canvas from the iconic” X” series by Allen Maddox is also a feature of the catalogue. Rarely do works of this quality from this series come to the market.

A seminal and major work by Fatu Feu’u has been consigned from collectors who are downsizing their NZ art collection. “Agaga Puaikura” is a significant large painting from the Frangipani series and is not dissimilar to a work held in the collection of Te Papa Museum.

Interest in many of our artists at the recent Auckland Art Fair was quite remarkable, and subsequent to this all have submitted new works of the highest quality for the show.

Viky Garden’s new series of portraits were extremely well received and two wonderful works have arrived one measuring an impressive 1220mm x 900mm. Rozi Demant likewise has, completed a stunning new portrait presented in the classic manner in an oval frame. Mark Wooller Fatu Feu’u and Justin Summerton also have entered outstanding paintings for this quality catalogue.’

Further works are still to arrive for the catalogue which will change throughout the month.

All works are available for immediate sale.

Purchases can also be financed interest free by arrangement courtesy of MYART
